Vocation - calling. What a perspective to see most of the task that we would normally take as mundane and routine.

Makes me ponder on my outlook and perspective on the everyday things that I do, whether in an excellent manner or half-heartedly.

It continues with "Marty went on to say that a sense of calling may be the most important step for any who seek fulfilment and meaning."

I couldn't agree more.

Music stirrings...

Over the past few days I've been driving to work with Elie's car and in her car there is a cd player. During my long drive to work and back from work, I would pop in the cds. Was listening to them the past few days...there were times I was trying very hard to stay alert and there were times when I would have chats with Him.

There was a few songs in the car that brought me back to a few years ago... There was a songs that speaks to me about "Your wisdom is my light."

And there was a song that reminded me always of my time in Adelaide. "Found" by Hillsong. Maybe it was because at that time then, it was a level of stress I was exposed to. It was my first audit overseas. I remember the quiet moments with Him listening and talking to Him. I relied on His Strength and Wisdom in that assignment and every other assignment now.

I remember a song that speaks of surrendering my life and come to discover a full life. How true... yet how ironic we are as humans. We know the right path to take yet we find it so hard to follow the path.

....

Most inspiring music that I've listen to are that of Steven Curtis Chapman... still one of my heroes of faith. Sometimes I find encouragement reading his story, listening to his music. I recently discovered he kept a blog! Here it is.. <Clickey click click>. As I read about his family's (and ours) lost of Maria Chapman, we all shared in his sorrow. And yet after the time of mourning, I can read in his blog of hope. Hope in the coming of Christ, in the reunion with Maria. That brought some encouragement to me. I was just pondering on the reality of life and death on earth and it occured to me that we can never fully comprehend the reality if we do not realised that we are just sojourners on earth and we have yet to come home. So lets us not be too comfortable here on earth and await our new home when our Lord comes.

Hope... that we Christians have. Hope in the future. Though we may be striving, pushing hard against the tide of the world, battle weary and sorrow-worn... we can be confident and rejoice in hope. Hope that Christ will one day come and wipe away all tears. And we would live without sorrow, ever joyful and everlasting with our loved ones and with God. Hope.

Well thats my thoughts I wanted to blog so far...cheers.

Name???? Tempted to say "thats life!" But I refrain because overall its not been good... then again... thats life!

So where does the excitement starts? Something worth blogging.... short notes.. Imma gona blog aboud...
- Bumper cars
- Worship celebration
- Papers...

So lets start with the bumper car story... I've added another nick name to my faithful car of 4+ years.. Of the interesting nicknames like black beauty, Theodore (was it that? can't recall, Chiak! I didn't agree with the first name btw).. I've added "Patchy" onto the list...why? It will become obvious when you see my car. It "identifiable" 1 km away....

So how did Patchy earned its nickname? It was a series of scratchy experiences... mostly from its careless driver and one incident of vandalism....

There was one morning, I was shocked to see the transformation of a brand new car to a dented car... It was then I realised,

"Oh well.. its just a car. Not too obvious anyway." while in the back of my mind I was thinking...

"Oh man! oh man... sigh.... who would do such a thing?!?! &#%$(#*$.... Oh well.. Its just a car. Not too obvious anyway."

So hence "black beauty" got its first dent. To add to its character, its front bonnet was scratch while on a tour of duty, transporting its passengers from various points to the mission field, as it is... A slight battle scar from an encounter with an immobile truck. Of course its careless driver was again to be blamed. Amazingly this time, I thought..

"Oh man... oh well.. its just a small scratch. It'll serve as a reminder of today."

Hence that was the second straw... the third was a small hugging incident with a pillar, of which I can't recall which pillar and where.. the scandal. To think black beauty was having a hugging encounter!

Then we arrive at our latest escapade... It was just last week. Lets begin with a storyline mode...

..It was a dark, stormy... ahem... it was a long day of work for Mr. Gabo. Even though he had enough sleep the last night, it was nevertheless a taxing day for his mind. Hence after a long battle and strenous battle with the ugly beast of corporate audits, he made his way to meet with his comrades for a feast of the night. With his mighty black beauty aka to-be-Patchy, he made his way through the thick forest of traffic jams and cloudy day. The many cars were mesmerizing and it long ride was taking its toll on Gabo. Against his will, he succumbed to the lulling effect of the forest. His mind wandered and it went blank. The next thing that awoken Gabo was a mighty thud and a rude jerk to his ride. He awoke..

"Oh great...sigh"

Signalling to the other rider to move to the side to avoid the stiffling fumes of other riders, he moved his ride to the emergency lane and came out to inspect the damage. The other rider came out as well... The other rider's carriage were not badly damaged and Gabo's ride was much worse... the irony of it was later discovered when the other person's ride (lets nickname her to be McPearson) was more costly to be repaired than his!..so there was an exchange of details and our Gabo's plans for the night were all cancelled.

Later after the incident, he thought about what had happened and was thankful to the Almighty for His protection because it could have gotten worse if Gabo ventured out late into the night with his comrades and another quest of mamaking with his fellow knights. Hence it served to be a wake-up call, and a costly one that it... Gabo had to dig into his already shallow well to draw out his reserved water aka sui for his ride repair and McPearson's as well. The repair apparently costed his 915++ gold coins, whi again Gabo thought,

"!@*$!(%!(#%!(@... sigh.... well if you're not careful, you gotta pay for it, Gabo.... yeah I know... but still Q!@$%#%(@... it could have gotten worse ya know... Its just money... It'll come back."

Gabo met up with the McPearson on the next day and made settlements for the repairs... Tired out and grumpy, all Gabo could look forward to was some R&R.

So that ends the story of the lastest and hopefully last battle scar of Patchy against its rider.

Will blog on the next 2 items in a later time.... stay tuned.
